European Sustainable Energy Week 2025 (EUSEW2025) has officially commenced in Brussels, bringing together global stakeholders to discuss pathways toward a fair, competitive, and inclusive green energy transition.
Throughout the week, a series of high-level events will be held under the auspices of the European Commission, including the 10th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency, organized by the International Energy Agency (IEA). The conference serves as a major platform for advancing international collaboration on energy efficiency.
A delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, is taking part in the conference. Minister Shahbazov is also scheduled to deliver a keynote address during the event, highlighting Azerbaijan’s initiatives in clean energy development and international energy cooperation.
In parallel, Minister Shahbazov will hold a bilateral meeting with European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jørgensen as part of the ongoing EU–Azerbaijan Energy Dialogue. This round of discussions, traditionally following the annual meetings of the Southern Gas Corridor and Green Energy Advisory Councils in Baku, will focus on reviewing the outcomes of bilateral cooperation and exploring future opportunities.
Key topics on the agenda include the transition to clean energy, renewable energy policy, energy efficiency measures, and strategies for reducing methane emissions. The dialogue reaffirms the shared commitment of both sides to fostering sustainable and secure energy systems.
