The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has expressed pride in financing wind and solar energy projects with a total capacity of 12 gigawatts in Azerbaijan, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the country's transition to a low-carbon energy future.
Speaking at the Baku Energy Forum, EBRD representatives highlighted Azerbaijan’s vast renewable energy potential and the strategic importance of scaling up green energy investments in the region. The bank reaffirmed its support for projects that contribute to energy diversification, sustainability, and economic growth.
The projects financed by EBRD include large-scale solar and wind farms, contributing significantly to the country’s green transformation goals. These initiatives are aligned with Azerbaijan’s national energy strategy and its climate commitments under international frameworks.
EBRD continues to collaborate with both public and private sector stakeholders in Azerbaijan to accelerate the development of clean energy infrastructure and attract further investment into the renewable energy sector.
